Steve Mulder is the OEM Packaging Segment Leader for North America. In this role, Steve leads strategy and segment planning activities in collaboration with North American leadership and OEM sales. Coordination with the Global OEM Segment leader to support the broader initiatives and strategies related to the packaging segment is also a key part of Steve's role.
Steve has more than 22 years of experience in the packaging machinery industry with an extensive background in engineering, sales and marketing, and company leadership. With experience as a senior leader at companies supplying a broad range of packaging machinery, Steve provides a unique OEM perspective and broad packaging applications knowledge.
Steve joined Rockwell Automation in 2014. Prior to his current position, Steve was the President at Aagard in Alexandria, MN. He also held the roles of VP of Operations and Engineering and VP of Sales and Marketing at Aagard. As President, Steve led all aspects of Aagard's traditional business which was focused on end of line packaging. He also drove new development in the area of primary packaging solutions. During Steve's tenure, the company dramatically increased its sales footprint, expanded its customer base, and developed solutions with broader market appeal.
Prior to Aagard, Steve was the VP of Sales and Marketing for Robert's Packaging in Battle Creek, MI. In this role, he not only led all efforts related to marketing and sales of HFFS machinery, he also was responsible for sales related to the co-packing business at Robert's.
Other experience includes time at both Bizerba GmbH and Bosch Packaging Technology in roles such as VP of Engineered Solutions, Director of Business Development, Director of Operations and Engineering and Product Management. Steve has experience with a broad array of primary, secondary, weighing, and ancillary equipment in the packaging machinery industry. Steve has also lived and worked internationally during his time with Bosch Packaging.
Steve holds degrees in Automated Systems Engineering and Electrical Engineering Technology from Lake Superior State University as well as an Executive MBA from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. He was also awarded two patents related to reclosable zipper on a VFFS machine and a vision based inspection system for identification and grading of food products.
