Featured Speakers

Sid Venkatesh
Sid is an Associate Technical Fellow, working in the Boeing Research and Technology department since 1986. In this capacity, he develops and supports just-in-time manufacturing, with a focus on emergent machining requirements. Sid is also the Chair of the Organization for Machine Automation and Control (OMAC), a 500-member strong global organization for the support of machine automation and manufacturing.


David Acheson
Dr. Acheson is a former FDA official and now Managing Director at Leavitt Partners LLC. He will talk about coming changes to the Food Safety Modernization Act and other regulatory issues, with an eye toward how they will impact food and beverage processors and packagers, other producers of consumables, and the manufacturers who design and build equipment used in those industries.


Bryan Griffen
Bryan has been an engineer with Nestlé since 1998, where he started as an electrical and automation engineer for a final packing facility. He has gained global experience in both operations and R&D within Nestlé. He is currently the manager of electrical and automation engineering at Nestlé’s global headquarters in Switzerland. Bryan also serves on the OMAC Board of Directors, and as chair of the OMAC Packaging Workgroup.


Chris Wells
Chris Wells is currently a Senior Staff Instrumentation Engineer in the Process Control section, Engineering Specialists, Engineering and Manufacturing Support, ExxonMobil Chemical Company providing instrumentation support and best practice development guidance for the ExxonMobil Chemical manufacturing sites and businesses. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University. He joined ExxonMobil Chemical Company in 1996 and has worked in various instrumentation engineering and supervisory positions at chemical and refining sites working primarily with safety systems, PLCs, and field instrumentation.


Chris Bacon
Bacon is Production Manager at Pepsi Bottling Ventures in Napa, ID and has 13 years of experience in manufacturing and project management, specifically in process, systems, and team-based development and improvements. He also has extensive experience with continuous improvement projects covering frozen, confections, and beverage commodities.
